The toughest one-day race on the ‘pro-cycling calendar’, Paris-Roubaix is a thrill for tech and automotive lovers.

With some of the best riders, boasting the finest in tech, it is always a pleasure to see what is being showcased at the Paris Roubaix.

In this year’s event, there were certain top trends. These include:

Tubeless Tyres

Tubeless tyres were among one of the most popular road bike trends at Paris Roubaix. As they were shown at the event, they immediately caught the eye of many.

Tubeless tyres are affordable and they last for a longer time as compared to tyres with tubes.

Generally, tubeless tyre technology has been common since a while. They are popular because they are less prone to punctures and general wear and tear.

Tubeless tyres are going to make it big, especially after they have been dispersed in the markets.

Aero Has Been Fairly Popular

Aero was also popular at the Paris Roubaix event in 2021.

Aero was spotted on Matthew Hayman’s 2016 win and it was spotted off the rim brake on Scott Foil’s aero bike.

Today, every pro team has a Paris-Roubaix aero bike ready.

Aero was also spotted on the latest Merida Reacto bike. It was seen at the Canyon Aeroad CFR. Furthermore, it was also spotted at the Cannondale SuperSix Evo.

Aero clothing is also popular now. Many riders at Paris Roubaix were seen and spotted wearing aero skinsuits and helmets.

Aero was rare when it was spotted in 2016. However, fast forward to 2021, it is now found integrated in cockpits, Queen of Classics, running rims and many other kinds of automotive vehicles.

Different Kinds of Bikes

Another emerging trend at the Paris-Roubaix 2021 was the different kinds of bikes.

If we look at bike choices at the Paris event, there have been unusual choices and everybody saw that.

One of the uncommon and unusual bike choices at the event was the ‘modified cyclo-cross bikes to the Johan Museeuw 1994 full suspension bike by Bianchi’.

Another was the Specialized Roubaix. The bike gets its name from the Paris Roubaix 2021 and was ridden to victory many times at the event.

Disc brakes were also spotted at the event. We also saw wider tyres and Aerodynamics.

Wider Tyres

Finally, ‘wider tyres’ were also seen and spotted at the Paris-Roubaix 2021 event.

Wider tyres help in improving road grip and are used in races without essentially wearing and tearing.

Many professionals were seen using wider tyres at the event.

While previously, most races were evened out at a 28mm tyre size, the expectation for most riders in 2021 races was 30mm rubber per minimum. 30mm tyres might be common in the future.

Overall and generally, the Paris Roubaix 2021 event was one of the most long foreseen events of 2021. It got many people excited and many were tuned in to watch it.

The trends at the event were a delight and will probably be used in the automotive industry in the years to come.
